Patos Island Race

March 21 & 22, 2026

Mark your calendars for the 44th Patos Island Race on March 13 and 14, 2027, hosted by the Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club. This two‑day sailing event brings crews together for strategy, endurance, and the kind of racing that becomes a highlight of the year.

The Patos Island Race is a full circumnavigation of Patos Island, made even more exciting by choosing the direction of rounding and having 24 hours to complete the course.

The Gulf Islands Course is a separate daytime race offering a fast, tactical sprint through marks and islands to kick off the year with sharp navigation and quick decision‑making.

As the season opener for the Vancouver Island Racing Series, Patos has become one of the most popular events for competitive crews from yacht clubs across Vancouver Island, the mainland, and the Pacific Northwest.
