Registration is now open for the 43rd annual Patos Island Race March 21 & 22, 2026, hosted by the Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club and proudly supported by title sponsor Blackline Marine.
COURSES
The race features three distinct courses designed to challenge skill, strategy, and endurance. The Long Course (~67 NM) and Short Course (~43 NM) are both 24‑hour overnight circumnavigations of Patos Island, made even more exciting by the choice of which direction to round. The Gulf Islands Course (~30 NM) offers a competitive daytime race around fixed marks and islands, targeting a duration of approximately seven hours.
ELIGIBILITY
There are no PHRF limits for any of the courses, however competitors should note that the Sail Canada 2026/2027 Offshore Special Regulations include significant updates that may affect eligibility for the Long and Short Courses. Please consult the OSR Significant Changes document, found below under “Information” on patosislandrace.com, for details on AIS, stability, and lifejacket requirements.

Save with early entry fees until February 1, 2026. Long Course registration is $140 CDN early or $175 CDN standard, Short Course is $110 CDN early or $145 CDN standard, and the Gulf Islands Course is $100 CDN early or $135 CDN standard. Registration closes on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 23:59.
